Keeping
vigilant in 2008!
Many taxpayers fall for the negative ad and their own fear that services will be
taken away if they had voted for Ron Gambardella. They didn’t realize that by
implementing necessary changes, we all would have gained tax relief. The
political games by the Henrici administration allowed them to continue to
put public safety in jeopardy. The only qualified animal control officer and the
EOM manager were dismissed already as political retaliation.
Voters
clearly sent a signal to the administration that they’re not happy. Will the
Democratic majority listen? It doesn’t seem that way. The Mayor’s refusal to
reveal his mileage record and his recent firings are clearly signaling a
continued unwillingness to work with and for taxpayers, for the betterment of
our town. Many important issues are waiting for change, like Charter reform and
the budget process. Establishing next year’s budget the taxpayers of
Hamden
deserve more transparency and accountability of how their tax dollars are being
spent. On
12/13/07
we’ve submitted a letter of recommendation to the Council to modify the
upcoming 2008 budget process via an ordinance or resolution. Many of us as
public citizens experienced the confusing, long and ineffective budget
deliberations last year. The public was not allowed to participate in a dialog
format; ask questions or make recommendations. To lower taxes, spending must be
curtailed. Not by “taking away” but rather working together, implement
intelligent savings and merging departments. Why pay for waste and duplication?
Will they listen? Voters must call their council members asking them for a
revision in the budget process.
In the light of our upcoming national elections we can’t afford another
mistake! We can’t believe promises and shouldn’t give into our fears!
Nothing is more important than the integrity of our next president! Vote for
character and records in the primaries and national elections! Vote for Ron
Paul!
Ron
Paul for President!
